I've just been looking back at pictures of the Brazil boys back at the 2002
WC...and man-oh-man, it annoys me what Nike has done to the Vapor.

I remember
a TV report on the MVI - how it was reminiscent of those old low-profile leather
boots used in the 60's and 70's in Brazil. Nike actually did a fine job in
echoing that idea with synthetic. There really was next to no structure in the
boot, but it was fine! The Nikeskin was awesome - it really was like a synthetic

soft - like a gelatine-type synthetic. The boots were exactly what they aimed to
be - and they looked amazing.

Picking up the MVIV in the shop on Friday, the
boot is chunky. It's so stiff. It's not even comparable. It's just on a
completely different level, and one wonders if it is even part of the same
range. Why but a lace-cover on a minimalist boot? The Teijn just feels nothing
